Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

It’s ironic how much modern culture romanticizes love. We view romantic relationships with gestures represented by giving chocolate and flowers, sending sweet messages, and having sex with the person we love most dearly. When a relationship is based on superficial actions, it’s not uncommon for it to fall apart in a short time. Romance is not driven by something you see so beautifully and want for yourself. No, it stems far deeper than that. From the morning you wake to the night you dream, the thought of that one particular person drives you crazy, longing to see him (or her). This is what it would feel like when you truly love someone. And as time goes by, no doubt you’d become addicted to the thought of that one person to be in your arms. And until then, you are left wondering.

The perfect way to see such a story is to read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. The most heart-pounding, breathtaking, and awestriking love story like no other in history.

This enthralling book of regal times has presented us the story of Miss Elizabeth Bennet and the daring Mr. Darcy. Both have their unique charms, but they complement one another like two puzzle pieces meant to fit together. Austen’s work has given us a glimpse of how the principles of society have molded young men and women into the norms of marriage. However, this context is what lead both Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth to be a perfect pair. The two only had to overcome the prejudices that society had placed on them to see the true love that existed between them, and the story ended beautifully with them engaged.

“…and they were both ever sensible of the warmest gratitude towards the persons who, by bringing her into Derbyshire, had been the means of uniting them.” – Pride and Prejudice, the last line.
